Shuya has been an avid animal lover her entire life and passionate about conservation, even before knowing what the word meant. The amount of strays, orphaned animals, and snakes she tried to bring into the house as a child still probably gives her family headaches.
Shuya mainly grew up in California and spent many years in Hawaii to study and work. She has worked in HR in startups, the government sector, and now the nonprofit sector. She is excited to be a part of WCN and to support its people and mission. In her free time, Shuya can probably be found anywhere but home. She enjoys diving, traveling, camping, and just general exploring. If at home, she likes to cook while her two dogs act as active vacuum cleaners or working out in the home gym with her two cats as sentries.
