Landon Magee is a conservationist from the Blackfeet Tribe, pursuing a PhD in Fish and Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana, building on his experience as a Wildlife Biologist with the Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife Department. His doctoral research focuses on the reintroduction and sustainable management of bison on the Blackfeet Reservation, a project that not only aims to restore a self-sustaining bison population but also strengthens cultural heritage and ecological balance on tribal lands. After his studies, Landon aspires to develop science-based management strategies that support both ecological sustainability and cultural priorities, while also helping to build tribal capacity in wildlife research and decision making.
