Htet is the Site Manager for the Myanmar Biodiversity Fund, where he coordinates community-led conservation projects for tigers and elephants in Htamanthi and Rakhine Conservation Strongholds. His scholarship supports his Master’s studies at the National Center for Biological Sciences of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in India. His research will explore human-elephant conflict in Myanmar, specifically analyzing the spatial and temporal movement patterns of elephants in the Rakhine Yoma region. Htet’s findings will contribute to the implementation of the Myanmar Elephant Conservation Action Plan, ensuring that elephants and communities coexist safely and sustainably.
