Simbarashe is the Senior Programs Officer at Wildlife Conservation Action, where he leads human-wildlife conflict mitigation initiatives and stakeholder engagement. His work includes implementing coexistence interventions such as predator-proof bomas, lion lights, reinforced kraals, and early warning systems to reduce conflict between people and wildlife. He is pursuing an MPhil in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of mobile predator-proof bomas and lion lights in reducing livestock depredation and improving community tolerance toward lions in northwestern Zimbabwe. By combining ecological monitoring with community-based research, Simbarashe aims to strengthen scalable, non-lethal coexistence strategies that support both local livelihoods and wildlife conservation across the Zambezi Valley landscape.

He was nominated by Dr. Peter Lindsey, Director of the Lion Recovery Fund at WCN.
