Nyasatu is a Carnivore Research Officer with the Wildlife Conservation Society in Tanzania’s Ruaha-Katavi landscape. Her work contributes to ongoing efforts to better understand species distribution, human-wildlife interactions, and coexistence in one of East Africa’s most important conservation landscapes. She is pursuing a Master’s of African Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the College of African Wildlife Management. Her studies focus on how climate change, habitat loss, human pressures, and wildlife resource use influence the ecology and long-term viability of large carnivores. Through this work, Nyasatu aims to strengthen science-based conservation strategies that support carnivore persistence while promoting coexistence between wildlife and local communities.

She was nominated by Claudio Sillero, Executive Director and Founder of the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme, a WCN Partner.

Awarded the Sidney Byers Scholarship for Wildlife Conservation.
