Conor is a conservationist from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in the Southwestern United States, dedicated to bridging traditional ecological knowledge with modern conservation science. As the former Director of the Department of Ecology and Research at Honor the Earth, he led initiatives centered on environmental justice and sustainability across Indian Country. Conor is pursuing a PhD at the University of Arizona, where his research will focus on mapping the historical range of the Emperor Moth (Rothschildia cincta), a culturally significant species for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. His groundbreaking work combines field research, captive breeding, and traditional ecological knowledge to restore this rare insect to its former habitats in Southern Arizona. Conor’s vision is to create a sustainable recovery program on Yaqui tribal lands, empowering community youth and tribal members to protect this species for future generations.
