Astghik is the Head of the Human-Wildlife Conflict Study Program at the German Nature Protection Union (NABU) in Armenia. Her work focuses on reducing conflicts between humans and wildlife through community engagement and evidence-based solutions. She will use the scholarship to pursue a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she will study human-gray wolf conflicts in Armenia to develop culturally sensitive mitigation strategies that foster coexistence. Astghik’s dedication to bridging scientific research with community perspectives is at the core of her mission to advance wildlife conservation in Armenia.
