Andrew is a Field Projects Officer at the Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc. His work involves leading biodiversity surveys, driving awareness campaigns, and training local personnel to protect endangered species. His scholarship supports his two-year Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation at the National Centre for Biological Sciences in India. His research focuses on the population density, habitat requirements, and breeding ecology of the Critically Endangered Sulu Hornbill, the world’s rarest and most threatened hornbill species. Andrew’s vision is to bring his expertise back to the Philippines, contributing to the conservation of endemic species and ensuring the survival of the Sulu Hornbill and other critically threatened wildlife.
He was nominated by Dr. Jayson Ibañez, Director of Operations at the Philippine Eagle Foundation & Whitley Award Recipient.
Awarded the Handsel Scholarship for Wildlife Conservation.
