Jessica is a Rwandan wildlife veterinarian with the Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association (RWCA). In her work, she provides life-saving healthcare to rescued wildlife, conducting critical interventions such as wildlife immobilization and capture both inside and outside Rwanda’s protected areas. Jessica is pursuing a three-year Master’s program at the University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s leading institutions for veterinary medicine. Her research focuses on assessing the health and disease risks of endangered grey crowned cranes, both in captivity and in the wild. Jessica envisions becoming a leading expert in wildlife health and conservation medicine in Africa, championing the protection of endangered species and driving community-based conservation efforts.
