Ariunbaatar is a Mongolian wildlife biologist currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He previously worked with the Wildlife Conservation Society Mongolia Program, where he conducted field research and data analysis to protect wild birds and ungulates. His master’s research investigates how infrastructure development affects the habitat use and movement of the Asiatic wild ass (Khulan) in Mongolia’s Southern Gobi. His work aims to generate critical insights into habitat preservation and migration patterns. This scholarship will support his data analysis at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre. Ariunbaatar aims to apply his expertise in movement ecology to enhance the conservation of Mongolia’s wide-ranging ungulates while inspiring a new generation of Mongolian conservationists to become stewards of their natural heritage.
